Calling all SOSCA members! We are still in need of Site Representatives!
“What would I have to do?” That’s the real question, right? (Taken from Article VII of SOSCA’s By-laws) The Site Representatives shall perform the following duties:
At least one representative should be appointed from each recognized Kern County Superintendent of Schools work site (or one from each floor at City Centre and Larry E. Reider Education Center).
Attend Board meetings designated as site rep meetings.
Bring any concerns of the employees to the President or Vice President who will take concerns to the Board.
Report any SOSCA activities to all employees at their locations.
A site representative’s obligation is to be an open line of communication between SOSCA and the sites they represent. Even though they are not directly involved in negotiations or decision making, they act as a powerful tool to voice the concerns of SOSCA members.
If you are interested in becoming a site rep, please contact a board member and let them know.

President’s Message
Greetings to all past, present, and future SOSCA members! I am happy to report that our Board is making big changes to bring more benefits to our classified members. We have expanded our scholarship opportunities and continue to provide informative, fun, lunchtime presentations. We are increasing accessibility to our presentations, meetings, and voting by bringing traveling to different locations, using video conferencing, and offering different times. We have even partnered with a local credit union to give SOSCA members exclusive financial benefits. 2019 has been a whirlwind of improvements here at SOSCA, and we plan to make 2020 equally exciting and beneficial to our members. We also recognize that there are a lot of changes and shifts at KCSOS, and just know that as your experience these changes, we are still here for you. Your classified association is always here fighting for you!
SOSCA hosts, and is involved with, several events throughout the year. We invite you to join the board and your fellow SOSCA members at our various events throughout the year to learn, enjoy refreshments, and have your voice heard.
