Increase of Membership Dues

Effective January 1, 2016 SOSCA will be increasing dues from $1 to $2.

The following is just a small portion of the benefits SOSCA provides for classified staff.

  • Classified staff has received a COLA in each of the last three years: 3% in 2013, 2% in 2014 and 3% in 2015.
  • Book scholarships have been increased to provide 5 SOSCA Member Book Scholarships in the amount of $300 and 3 Family Book Scholarships in the amount of $150.
  • Classified staff have been able to retain high quality health benefits with no decrease in coverage.
  • Lunchtime Presentations are provided several times throughout the year.
  • Food, fun and gift cards provided at the Quarterly General Meetings.
  • Increased vacation hours.
  • Casual Friday dress.
  • Long Term Disability Coverage Plan.

    • Provide its members with duly authorized representation for the purpose of protecting and improving their rights under the Merit System.
    • To settle disputes between employee and employer arising from grievances as they apply to the Merit System, and
    • To provide the communication vehicle between employee and employer.
